Toshiba’s Cardiovascular X-ray Provides Flexibility and Makes Exams Safer During Pediatric Interventions
Infinix-i Bi-Plane Capabilities Demonstrated During Live Case at PICS
CHICAGO, June 6, 2014 – To demonstrate the ease of performing advanced pediatric procedures, Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc.’s Infinix™-i bi-plane cardiovascular X-ray system will be used during a live pediatric case at the Pediatric and Adult Interventional Cardiac Symposium (PICS-AICS), June 7–10, 2014, in Chicago.
The live case will be performed on Monday, June 9, 2014, by John P. Cheatham, M.D., and Ralf Holzer, M.D., of Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
“Pediatric cardiovascular interventions are complex and require imaging equipment that offers greater flexibility and more access to the patient,” said David Sloop, director, X-ray Vascular Business Unit, Toshiba. “The Infinix-i offers flexibility in system design with C-arm movement that enables physicians to obtain difficult-to-reach imaging angles, facilitating efficient diagnoses and treatment. With superb access and coverage of the patient, and tableside dose optimization management features for faster and safer procedures, the system is ideal for a pediatric setting.”
